HDMI over CAT5/6 KIT

The HDMI CAT-5 extends your HDTV display up to 200 feet away from your HDTV source using  CAT-5 Network cables as transmission media.   By taking the advantage of low-cost Cat5/5e/6 FTP cable, the Cat5 HDMI Expander can simplify installation and save cost. 

How it works?

The HDMI CAT-5 Transmitter unit, which is a small box (8cmX4.5cm) sits next to your HDMI source such as Sky Box, DVD player, PC etc.set-top box or DVD player source.  A HDMI Cable then connects to the input on the transmitter and a CAT5 cable to the output.   You can then run CAT-5 cable over long distances and then connect it to the CAT-5 receiver which you would then connect a HDMI cable directly to the HDTV display up to 200 feet away without any loss of sound/picture quality. 

Benefits of Using the HDMI over CAT5 Kit:

• The length of  a HDMI cable is fixed and unchangeable after it is produced.  However CAT5E cables are available everywhere and can be bought/ or even cut to the correct size required. HDMI cable (especially thick gauge) is difficult to route and hide away, it is not as flexible as CAT5 cable, and the connection head is large making it difficult to pass through walls, holes etc .  However, CAT-5E cable has no such problem. It is much easier to make a neat tidy installation.

• The transmission can can be extended up to 200 Feet without any loss of picture/sound quality, Supporting resolutions of up to 1080p and HDMI ver1.3.  

• HDMI Cables on their own cannot be extended longer than 10M without effecting the quality of the picture/sound.
